As a network and systems administrator, you’ll be responsible for managing the network and computer systems, as well as maintaining and developing them. Here’s what a typical week in the life of a network and systems administrator might look like…
- You are responsible for acquiring, configuring and upgrading the IT fleet.
- You administer physical and virtual access (account configuration and management).
- You will manage and monitor the performance of physical and virtual servers (VMware, QEMU/KVM).
- Create backup and restore policies
- You participate in technological choices and in data and network security
- You support network and IT teams on cutting-edge telecoms projects
- You transmit information and complete various forms, reports, procedures, changes to customer files, etc.
- You document procedures in the form of an internal wiki and update network and succession plans.
- You assist the IT technician with hardware support, maintenance and acquisition, as needed.
