As an RF designer, you will support the engineering team in the design of telecommunication projects. Here’s what a typical day in the life of an RF designer might look like…
- You study customer sites, both French- and English-speaking, with algorithms and equipment for optimizing wave propagation using AutoCAD software.
- You assemble, install, check, troubleshoot and configure the various components of a wired or wireless telecommunications system.
- You manipulate topographic maps to simulate wave propagation using Mentum Planet software (LIDAR, DWG, DT**).
- You support production with documentation and design during the testing of our electronic products.
- You write engineering test reports
- You design and present technical training courses to our customers
- You assist the support department (NOC)
- You design LTE Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) in-building and in tunnels
- You travel to customer sites to commission LTE networks (in Canada or abroad, for varying lengths of time, but rarely more than a few days).
- You carry out the tests required to ensure the quality and performance of the networks commissioned by the customer.
Engineering is at the heart of our work. Projects are diverse, and so are the resources needed to carry them out.
